Everything below is drawn from published sources — planning filings, HMRC notices and the harbour authority. No client data. Eight of the things the demonstration shows, and where each lands on the site:

THE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

Every tank against the 0.30 percent cap

Excise Notice 179 §4.10 caps the whole measurement system, not one gauge. Continuum computes each tank’s band live and names the input that blocks it: temperature held at the legal minimum of ±1.0 °C, or the manual dip on a tank with no automatic gauge.

FIVE GRADES, ONE CALCULATION

Jet, diesel, gasoline, HVO and ethanol, corrected correctly

Volume corrected to 15 °C selects its constants by density group. The same diesel on opposite sides of 839 kg/m³ corrects as two different products — and EN 590 runs 820 to 845, so that is the rule rather than the exception.

DUTY, WITH ITS DATES

Four rate changes in one calendar year

52.95 p/l today, the bioblend rebate to 31 December, reversion to 55.95 p on 1 January. Duty is charged on standard litres, so the temperature correction is the tax calculation. A rate held as a constant is wrong four times.

THE PARCEL CHAIN

Nobody sends anything

A parcel moves ARRIVED → ASSAYED → RELEASED → COMMITTED → LIFTED → DUTY POINT as its data conditions hold. The assay lands in the laboratory’s seat, the release with quality assurance, the lift with the terminal manager — and a hold stops the chain for everyone.

ULLAGE IS INVENTORY

Room to sell, by grade

Ullage costs nothing to hold and cannot be bought back once promised. A tank 71 percent empty and not being offered is a figure the commercial seat sees the moment it becomes true — by grade and customs status, never one total.

THE JETTIES AND THE WINDOW

Jetty 2 carries the traffic

Berth, road racks and pipeline compete for the same product. The UKOP nomination window closes at 16:00 whether anything is committed against it or not — the scheduler’s seat counts it down against the physical position, not a spreadsheet.

THE BAND, PRICED

What a reading point buys

Lay a Continuum Sense point in the tank and the band closes in front of you: less margin handed over on every lift, and a lender advance moving from 72 to 85 percent on the same physical stock.

THE BUILD, IN THE MODEL

Eight planned tanks, priced before FID

75,000 m³ of planned south-side capacity for 2028 sits in the same model as today’s tanks, so the case for the build is run against the operation’s own record — and the COMAH safety report due this year draws from it.
